Meeting Place or “The Hags with the Bags”
A statue by Jakki McKenna (1988) in Lower Liffey Street of two women sitting on it talking to each other. The bags clearly show that the women have been shopping in Arnott’s, a large department store on Henry Street. The statue is much loved by Dubliners, because it shows normal people doing normal things – it doesn’t involve anyone looking noble.

A statue by Vincent Browne (1988) a local sculptor, in Hawkins Street of a smiling usher standing outside the doors of the Screen Cinema directing people to the theatre, torch in hand.
