The bronze statue by Julio Nieto was erected near the fishermen quarters in May 2008.  It depicts a determined and hard-working woman with a basket upon her head and a bucket in her hand.  They are both full of fish she has just collected, possibly from her husband’s returned fishing boat and she is off to sell the catch, either at the market or from a street corner.
